What problem are you trying to address?

Excessive reverberation

Reflected sound within the room.

Speech distraction

Conversations affecting nearby work.

Meeting-room speech clarity

Room and AV conditions affecting understanding.

Speech privacy concern

Confidential conversations need a wider strategy.

Sound transmission between rooms

Review the complete separating construction.

Mechanical / HVAC noise

Assess equipment, airflow and vibration at source.

Acoustic panels may help manage reflected sound and reverberation. They do not replace sound-insulating partitions, doors, seals, mechanical-noise control or professional acoustic design.

Choose the Right Acoustic Strategy

Acoustic absorption

Helps reduce reflected sound and room reverberation.

Sound insulation

Limits sound transmission through partitions, doors, glazing and floors.

Sound masking

Uses controlled background sound to reduce perceived speech distraction; requires appropriate design and commissioning.

Source control

Addresses equipment, HVAC, vibration or other noise at the source.

Wood Slats + PET Acoustic Backing

Wood-look acoustic slat panel on a dark backing; confirm actual material specificationProduct reference. Confirm whether the slats are wood or MDF and verify the backing and installation configuration.

Decorative face and acoustic backing

Decorative wood or MDF slats, PET acoustic backing and an optional cavity or mounting construction must be specified as a complete assembly.

Match the tested configuration

Confirm acoustic performance using the report for the selected model and the complete tested mounting configuration. Do not transfer NRC values or frequency claims between assemblies.

Speech privacy needs more than absorption

Confidential speech privacy usually requires additional measures such as layout, barriers, enclosed rooms, doors, seals or professionally designed sound masking.

Office Space Application Guide

Illustrative Open-plan work area; not a verified project or acoustic performance evidence

Open-plan work area

Assess speech distraction, ceiling, screens, layout and sound masking—not wall panels alone.

Illustrative Meeting room / boardroom; not a verified project or acoustic performance evidence

Meeting room / boardroom

Review room volume, glass, ceiling, table, AV equipment and required speech clarity.

Illustrative Reception / lobby; not a verified project or acoustic performance evidence

Reception / lobby

Balance reverberation control with durability, cleaning, fire documentation and visual intent.

Illustrative Focus room; not a verified project or acoustic performance evidence

Focus room

Absorption may control internal reflections; isolation depends on the complete enclosure.

Illustrative Phone booth; not a verified project or acoustic performance evidence

Phone booth

Privacy depends on shell, door, glazing, seals and ventilation—not only the interior lining.

Illustrative Corridor / breakout area; not a verified project or acoustic performance evidence

Corridor / breakout area

Confirm impact exposure, maintenance, circulation safety and suitable placement.

Application illustrations only—not evidence of product composition, sound isolation or completed project performance.
  1. 1Identify the acoustic problem
  2. 2Record room and finish conditions
  3. 3Select candidate product systems
  4. 4Review samples and model-specific documents
  5. 5Project team confirms quantity and placement
Acoustic panels alone may not be suitable when the main issue is sound transmission, confidential speech, mechanical noise, structural vibration or exterior noise. This guide does not provide a universal coverage percentage or installation position.
